The Tuareg people are traditionally a nomadic tribe from Mali, Niger, and Burkino Faso. They have been nicknamed the "blue people" because of the indigo-dyed fabric they wear that sometimes stains their skin a bluish color. They wear talismans and various jewelry which have etchings for protection or to ward off the evil eye. This half-moon necklace is handcrafted in Mali.
